We are driven by our simple mission: to save lives by creating safer surgical environments.

At Compacta, we believe that every patient, everywhere, deserves safe surgery – no matter the location or resources available. Post-operative infections claim millions of lives each year, many of which could be prevented with access to sterile surgical environments. Yet, traditional operating rooms are expensive, infrastructure-heavy and out of reach for many health-care facilities worldwide.

The facts

Healthcare-associated and post-operative infections are a major global problem and the most common healthcare-associated complication 

I Sverige: 57 000 vårdrelaterade infektioner årligen, med 1 300 dödsfall och kostnader på 4,4 miljarder kronor per år.

Globalt: Postoperativa sårinfektioner (SSIs) orsakar 99 000 dödsfall enbart i USA, med årliga kostnader på 10 miljarder USD. 37 000 dödsfall i Europa och 4,2 miljoner dödsfall världen över.

Låg- och medelinkomstländer: Står för hälften av alla globala dödsfall orsakade av SSIs, vilket tydliggör det kritiska behovet av tillgängliga sterila lösningar.

Clinical studies

Study

The aim of the study was to assess the effectiveness of the CompactaSteril ultra clean air system. According to the assumption, the examined device should significantly reduce the risk of contamination of the treatment and operational field. The correctness of this assumption was tested on a small animal's model under simulated conditions in the treatment room.
